about the webinar

The scope, scale, and complexity of the most pressing global development challenges-from poverty and climate change to pandemics and fragility – will not be solved by governments alone. Driving effective and sustainable solutions to tackle these challenges and realize the Sustainable Development Goals will require dynamic new partnerships with non-state actors, including civil society, the private sector, social entrepreneurs, social impact investors, and others in the social economy.

In this engaging hybrid event, our panelists will highlight the wellspring of scalable and innovative solutions that exist in civil society, and the importance of systematic collaboration to drive development outcomes. By emphasizing the power of partnerships, the panelists will showcase how harnessing the expertise, creativity and impact of civil society and social innovators can drive sustainable change. Furthermore, the event will explore the part that institutions such as the World Bank may play in enabling civil society to perform this role, as the Bank’s evolution signals a closer partnership with civil society.

In the context of the World Bank and IMF’s 2024 Spring Meetings, join us as we discuss ways to address urgent global challenges and work towards the World Bank Group's mission of eradicating poverty on a livable planet.

The Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) supports civil society and governments across the world to work together to solve critical governance challenges.
