Launch Event - Green Accountability Technology Accelerator
The climate crisis threatens all of us. We won’t solve it without charting a new path that creates a meaningful role for citizens everywhere in climate decisions. A livable and just future requires green accountability.
In order to reach Net Zero targets and facilitate a just transition to a greener economy, the global community needs to scale climate finance to approximately $4.3 trillion per year until 2030. Poor reporting practices, fragmented data, lack of transparency, and limited citizen oversight increase risks of corruption and misspending – ultimately jeopardizing the potential for climate change progress. Greater accountability – a more transparent, inclusive, and representative system – will be essential to ensure this scale of climate finance results in the intended climate action.
The Green Accountability Technology Accelerator is designed to support digital innovators who are building the tools that enable greater transparency and trust in the deployment of climate finance. These technologies include open-source platforms, digital public goods, and scalable data infrastructure to foster greater collaboration among donors, governments, and communities.
Join us on Thursday, February 8 at 9 am ET for a virtual launch event with Climate Collective and the GPSA to learn more about the accelerator, the benefits of participating, and how to apply.
